High-rise building safety

As the principle accountable entity, we have a legal requirement to operate a mandatory occurrence reporting system for high-rise residential buildings we are responsible for, and to report all building safety incidents and risks that meet the set criteria to the Building Safety Regulator.

What must be reported?

Any building safety incidents and risks that have caused, or if not remedied are likely to cause:

  • the death of a significant number of people.
  • serious injury to a significant number of people.

What is a building safety incident and risk?

Building safety incidents and risks involve at least one of the following:

  • structural failure of the building.
  • the spread of fire or smoke in the building.

Reporting building safety incident and risks to One Vision Housing

Report any building safety incidents and risks immediately to us by first calling 0300 365 111. You can also email enquiries@ovh.org.uk or FireSafetyTeam@ovh.org.uk

  • Provide as much detail as possible of the incident and risk. Formats include: telephone or face-to-face conversation, email, photos and videos.
  • Ensure you provide your contact details to enable us to contact you to discuss and collate all necessary incident details. We will complete a thorough investigation and will maintain all information in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

When assessing your report, we will consider:

  • the factors that make up the report.
  • if a mandatory occurrence notice and report must be submitted to- the Building Safety Regulator.
  • if the incident has already been investigated.
  • if the report contains additional information relating to a previously raised incident.

Reporting building safety incidents and risks to the Building Safety Regulator

When we receives notification of a building safety incident that meets the reportable criteria, we will report these to the Building Safety Regulator by submitting a mandatory occurrence:

  • notice as soon as possible.
  • report within 10 days of the safety occurrence being identified.
