Sovini Property Services: Keeping our communities sparkling

Published: 5/5/2025

As the days grow longer and the warm weather arriving, our dedicated team at Sovini Property Services are in full swing with their Spring/Summer Grounds Maintenance and Communal Cleaning schedule.

We understand the importance of well-maintained communal spaces. They contribute significantly to the overall well-being and pride of our customers, creating a positive environment and a better future for everyone.

The Grounds Maintenance spring/summer season, which runs from mid-March to mid-October, is now live. Customers can expect  regular site visits every 2 to 3 weeks (weather permitting), ensuring outdoor spaces are kept tidy and inviting. The comprehensive schedule includes:

  • Grass to be cut and mulched for added nutrients.
  • Lawn edges and abutting footpaths, walls, and beds to be strimmed.
  • Weeds to be sprayed (weather permitting) and removed during the next visit.
  • Litter picking of grassed and hardstanding areas.
  • Shrubs and hedges pruned (additional visits for access and egress where required).

While the team focuses on these essential tasks, it’s important to note that certain services like fly-tipping removal, dog fouling removal, collection of grass cuttings, pruning or removal of trees, jet washing of patio or paved areas, planting or turfing of areas, and removal of established planting or shrubs are not included in this routine schedule.

Communal cleaning

Inside communal areas, the Sovini Property Services cleaning teams are working to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Their regular schedule ensures shared spaces are pleasant and welcoming for all residents. This includes:

  • Regularly hoovering carpets and mats (if an electrical supply is available).
  • Sweeping all hard floors.
  • Mopping all hard floors.
  • Cleaning all interior glass surfaces, including vision panels, but excluding windows.
  • Wiping hand plates and kick plates.
  • Wiping skirting boards, architraves, window ledges and fittings.
  • Polishing switches and sockets.
  • Wiping handrails and banisters.
  • Dusting spindles.
  • Wiping fire extinguishers (where applicable).
  • Spot cleaning walls.
  • Assessing communal areas and reporting any defects.
  • Cleaning external windows monthly.

Similar to the grounds maintenance, certain tasks such as fly-tipping removal, carpet cleaning, removal of stubborn stains like paint or bodily fluids, and removal of dog fouling are outside the scope of the regular communal cleaning schedule.

Positive feedback continues for our teams

The hard work and dedication of the Sovini Property Services teams are clearly being appreciated by our OVH customers. Feedback continues to be overwhelmingly positive, with two residents recently demonstrating their gratitude by leaving flowers for the operatives as a heartfelt thank you for their efforts. This kind gesture speaks volumes about the positive impact the teams are having on the communities they serve.
