Renters’ Rights Act introduced from 1st May 2026
Published: 5/5/2026
From 1st May 2026, the UK Government is introducing the Renters’ Rights Act to make renting fairer for everyone.
As a responsible landlord, we are committed to providing safe, secure homes. Many of the protections our customers deserve are already in place.
Here is a simple breakdown of what is changing under the Renters’ Rights Act:
Rolling tenancies
- All tenancies are moving to a rolling system. This gives you more flexibility and long-term security without the need for fixed-term renewals.
Fairer rent
- Any changes to your rent will follow a clear, yearly process. We remain dedicated to keeping our homes affordable and providing great value for customers.
Pets in the home
- The new rules make it easier to request keeping a pet. We know they are part of the family and we promise to review every request with a fair and open mind.
High standards
- While the new laws ensure all rental properties meet safety and maintenance standards, we already consistently exceed these requirements.
More details on these changes can be found within The Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet 2026.
