OVH support Docklands Trail helping bring Liverpool’s shipping history to life

Published: 2/8/2021

Recently we partnered with fellow Sovini Group members, Sovini Trade Supplies, Sovini Property Services and the Pride of Sefton, to help provide support for the Docklands Trail.

Featuring a set of specially customised shipping containers full of artefacts and memorabilia, the Docklands Trail takes visitors on a historical tour of Waterloo, Stanley, Huskisson, Canada, Gladstone and Seaforth docks.

The Docklands Trail is a registered charity founded by a group of retired ex-pupils from Bootle Grammar School. The group was formed from the desire to give something back to the local community and to say thank you for their upbringing and education in Bootle.

In addition to our donation from the Community Development Fund, fellow members of The Sovini Group, Sovini Trade Supplies, donated a kitchen, whilst Sovini Property Services volunteered their time to help install a collection of planters.

Sovini Charity’s wide beam canal boat, the Pride of Sefton, has also partnered with the Docklands Trail to offer tours to school groups in conjunction with their own tours along Liverpool’s hidden waterways.

Les Ellis, Chair of Trustees of The Dockland Trail, said:

I would like to thank One Vision Housing and other members of The Sovini Group for helping support the Docklands Trail. It’s our hope that as a tourist attraction we will sustain the trail for the benefit of our local communities, who will be able to use the facility for educational, local interest and job awareness purposes.”
