One Vision Housing celebrate the first release of affordable housing at development launch in Netherton

Published: 2/5/2023

One Vision Housing marked the first release of affordable homes at its Morris Meadows development with a launch event, bringing customers and stakeholders together to celebrate.

Customer John, his partner and two children were amongst those who joined the celebrations. Having already settled into their Shared Ownership property on the development, they noted the efficiency of One Vision Housing colleagues, who put them at ease throughout the process of moving into their new home.

The development, which was proudly named a the ‘Best Affordable Scheme’ at the Your Move Liverpool Awards, boasts an impressive 149 properties which are set to inject new life into the Netherton community.

With a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes available through Affordable Rent, Rent to Buy and Shared Ownership tenures, the development is serving the housing needs of the community, with thanks to its excellent transport links, local amenities, and schools for growing families.

One Vision Housing is a proud member of The Sovini Group, a construction, property, and facilities services company committed to creating opportunities and changing lives for customers and local communities.

Group partner Sovini Construction acquired the brownfield land in Netherton. Through successful collaboration with One Vision Housing and The Sovini Group’s commercial supply chain, the specialist contractor is working towards the development’s completion which is anticipated later this year.

Working in collaboration with Condy Lofthouse Architects, the development was constructed using a ‘fabric first’ approach that focuses on the reduction of energy consumption, through thermal efficiency and running costs.

The properties support The Sovini Group’s net-zero carbon commitment, with environmentally efficient fixtures including toilets, taps, showers, and light fittings, installed in each property, supplied by the Group’s local independent building merchant, Sovini Trade Supplies.

Through a grant of over £5.8m Homes England played a pivotal role in supporting One Vision Housing to scale the development and serve the wider community.

Ian Mitchell, Managing Director of One Vision Housing said:

“It was an honour to see first-hand the efforts of our [The Sovini] Group’s end-to-end supply chain, and how successful collaboration has seen the Morris Meadows project delivered, with our vision of building a better future in mind. It is with thanks to Homes England and their grant funding support that we can continue to create opportunities and change the lives of our customers. We look forward to seeing our communities thrive and to see this development having a wider positive impact on the local area.”

James Flannery, Director of Construction and Land for Sovini Construction added:

“The Morris Meadows development has been designed and built to the highest standard. The homes are energy efficient as we continue to embrace renewable technologies with an environmentally friendly approach to construction. Building a better future for customers by creating sustainable homes and transforming local communities is, and will continue to be central to all our operations.”
