Fly-Tipping in Bootle targeted on first Day of Action 2025/26
Published: 4/4/2025
We recently launched our Alleyway Strategic Action Plan to tackle fly-tipping, with the first Day of Action for 2025/26 taking place this week in Sefton. Following on from 15 successful Days of Action last year, our focus today was on the area around Webster, Tumilty, and Summers Avenue, off Southport Road in Bootle.
This neighbourhood has a high concentration of our customers and, whilst our customers enjoy living in the area, they welcomed a push to enhance their surroundings. This Day of Action marks the start of our Fly-tipping clearance schedule in the area, which began earlier this month.
We are working in close partnership with Sovini Waste Solutions, Sovini Property Services and Sefton Council to ensure alleyways are cleared of existing fly-tipping. Alongside this, a range of measures focusing on enforcement, engagement, and education are being implemented to prevent future occurrences.
The positive impact of the initiative was immediately evident, with customers expressing their appreciation for the work being done and noting the significant improvement in the area.
Sovini Waste Solutions have played a crucial role in the Day of Action, and we extend a special thank you to Alan, Tony, Amy, and the new operations team in the caged van for their fantastic support.
This Day of Action demonstrates our commitment to proactively addressing challenges in our neighbourhoods and making a tangible difference to the lives of our customers.
