Empowering the Next Generation with our school environmental project

Published: 5/6/2026

We’re passionate about keeping our communities clean and green for everyone to enjoy. Following the success of last year’s campaign, we’re teaming up with Sefton Council once again to expand our School Environmental & Cleaner Communities Project.

We are visiting local primary schools across the region, and we’re already halfway through our interactive sessions! We’re chatting with young people about the real impact of litter, fly-tipping, and dog fouling on our streets, whilst highlighting the importance of recycling for the environment.

The goal is to inspire children to take pride in their communities and encourage positive behaviour that lasts a lifetime. So far, we’ve visited students at Thomas Gray, Bedford Road, St Robert Bellarmine, St Philips, Kings Lander, St Monica’s and Linacre in South Sefton.

Campaigning for cleaner alleyways

To bring their ideas to life, the students are putting their creativity to work in an anti-fly-tipping poster competition! The top three winning designs from each school will earn cinema vouchers and, most importantly, be turned into permanent signs displayed on local alleyway gates to act as a visual deterrent.

Neil Kenwright, Head of Housing at One Vision Housing, shared his thoughts on the project’s impact:

“We’re striving for visibly cleaner and tidier neighbourhoods, and engaging with our local schoolchildren is a crucial part of our ‘Three Es’ framework to Educate, Engage, and Enforce. By teaching the next generation about responsible waste disposal, we are working together to achieve a meaningful, long-term reduction in fly-tipping and a better future for everyone.”
