Last month, we joined forces with Sefton Council, Sefton Veterans, and Ward Councillors Darren Veidman and John Kelly for a successful Day of Action in Lawler Street. 

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving our communities, the day revolved around removing fly-tipped waste from the communal areas and alleyways as well as carrying out a community litter pick. We also provided two large skips for residents to dispose of any unwanted items responsibly. These efforts will help create a cleaner, safer neighbourhood and prevent any future fly-tipping. 

A key focus of the day was the communal garden located between Lawler Street and Hinton Street, which once used to be a much loved and valued community space. Through the ongoing regeneration work led by Sefton Veterans, the garden is being given a new life. It already includes fruit trees, benches and raised planting beds, providing a fantastic foundation for future improvements. 

Through partnership working, we can help transform our communities into cleaner, greener and more vibrant neighbourhoods and create an environment where residents can enjoy and spend time together. A huge thank you to everyone who got involved in helping make the day a success.

Responsible waste disposal options

To help customers dispose of bulky items responsibly, Sefton Council offers a collection service. You can book a collection for three large items at £25 with an average wait time of around 10 days.
