Over 700 people to benefit from One Vision Housing’s Community Development Fund this summer

Published: 3/7/2022

One Vision Housing are supporting over 700 local people this summer thanks to an investment of over £5.8k from their Community Development Fund.

As part of The Sovini Group, the award-winning social housing provider is driven by its purpose to ‘create opportunities and change lives’, and recognise their role as a key contributor to the social and economic development of the North West.

With the help of their Customer Panel, One Vision Housing are delighted to be supporting five wonderful organisations over the coming months.

Equilibrium North West

Equilibrium North West are delivering a summer holiday programme that will see children with disabilities and/or additional needs and their families with around 100 hours of free support, as well as 750 meals.

JourneyMEN

JourneyMEN will now be able to better support men’s mental and physical health in Wirral by offering early intervention services and physical activities like football, walking groups and gardening.

Netherton Park Neighbourhood Centre

We are partnering with Netherton Park Neighbourhood Centre in a Food Pantry project that aims to reduce food poverty and address the cost-of-living crisis in an area where 40% of children receive free-school meals.

Taking Root

A group of vulnerable adults who have been working on a submission for the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park with Taking Root will be attending the event this summer with their biggest garden show to date.

The Orrell Trust

The Orrell Trust are launching a Youth Choir later this year aimed at young people in Bootle. The choir aims to broaden member’s musical education and horizons with weekly rehearsals and two annual performances.

Ian Mitchell, Managing Director of Housing at The Sovini Group commented:

“One Vision Housing are central to the creation of thriving, inclusive communities across the Liverpool City Region and beyond, but our role doesn’t stop there. We look forward to seeing how these activities create opportunities and work towards changing the lives of people within our communities.”

The Orrell Trust’s Project Manager, Matt Jeziorski, added:

“We are aware of a real lack of opportunities of this sort for children and young people in our area; there are no other community choirs for under-16s in our part of the borough.”

A total of £10,000 is available each year for voluntary and community groups through One Vision Housing’s Community Development Fund. Applications can be submitted at any time throughout the year.
