Candlelit Vigil Remembering Women Lost to Male Violence

Published: 5/11/2024

On Monday 25th November, Merseyside will come together to remember the women and girls who have lost their lives to gender-based violence.

RASA Merseyside, in collaboration with local charities and groups, will host a candlelit vigil on ‘International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls’. Batala Mersey, Savera UK Youth and Tomorrow’s Women Choir will deliver powerful performances and speeches to shine light on this critical issue.

Every day, 3000 gender-based violence crimes are reported in the UK, resulting in 1 in 12 victims each year. These alarming statistics has led the National Police Chief’s Council to officially recognise violence against women and girls as a national emergency.

Come together and stand up against gender-based violence and honour the lives lost.

Date: Monday 25th November
