ASB Awareness Week Round-up!

Published: 1/7/2021

Last week at One Vision Housing we recognised ASB Awareness Week which encouraged communities to take a stand against ASB and highlighted the options available to those facing it.

Organised by community safety specialists Resolve, ASB Awareness Week was backed by the Home Office, Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), Local Government Association (LGA), National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) and the National Fire Chiefs’ Council (NFCC).

Throughout the week we carried out community action days across Merseyside in partnership with Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, Sovini Property Services and LCC Debt Advice team.

As a result of our Community Safety team’s hard work, we were able to…
  • Identify and resolve a domestic violence case onsite
  • Discuss ASB concerns with customers and offer support and guidance
  • Alert residents to local ‘loan shark’ initiatives with the help of the LCC debt advice team
  • Carry out home visits with Merseyside Police to assure residents that action is being taken in the area
  • Provide arson risk reduction information with the help of Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service
  • Remove fly tipping and carry out litter picking

Assistant Neighbourhood Services Manager, Kyle Lane, had this to say about the week:

“At One Vision Housing we are committed to providing safe and secure neighbourhoods for our customers, and during ASB Awareness Week we decided to take a proactive approach to resolving ASB issues by partnering with local organisations to carry out a series of community action days to help improve the lives of our customers and the communities in which they live. I would like to thank all of our partner organisations and the Community Safety team at One Vision Housing for their hard work throughout the week and helping us to create thriving, inclusive communities.”

Furthermore,  we are delighted to announce that our Community Safety Officer William (Bill) Merritt was the winner of Resolve UK’s ‘Practitioner of the Year’ award. This award showcases employees that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to delivering change and inspiring others. This nomination demonstrates our ongoing commitment to creating safe and secure neighbourhoods. Congratulations Bill and thanks for continuing to serve and support our communities!
