Another successful Day of Action at Milton Street and Wordsworth Street
Published: 3/8/2026
Last week, our Neighbourhood Services Team carried out another successful Day of Action across our low-rise apartment blocks on Milton Street and Wordsworth Street. As part of our ongoing commitment to improving our communities, the event focused on enhancing the local environment, tackling fly-tipping and speaking directly with customers about issues that matter most to them.
Throughout the day, our teams carried out essential Fire Risk Assessments across the blocks to help ensure our buildings remain safe for everyone. They also conducted community litter picks at both locations, clearing litter and removing large, fly-tipped items from communal outdoor spaces and surrounding highways.
To support customers in disposing of unwanted household items responsibly, skips were provided at both sites and were heavily used by residents throughout the day. A huge thank you to Sovini Waste Solutions for their continued support in helping us create cleaner and more welcoming neighbourhoods.
One of the most valuable parts of the day was the opportunity to speak directly with customers and hear their feedback. Residents spoke positively about how much the local area has improved in recent years and shared how much they enjoy the community events we organise, including the recent Poets Park Fun Day.
A huge thank you to everyone who got involved, spoke with our teams and helped make the day a success. Your feedback helps us understand what matters most and plays a vital role in shaping and improving our services.
Your role in keeping our communities clean
We all have a role to play in keeping our neighbourhoods clean, safe and welcoming. Please dispose of any unwanted items responsibly and help keep alleyways and communal areas free from litter.
Fly-tipping is a health hazard, harms the environment and can have a negative impact on the look and feel of our neighbourhoods.
If you witness any illegal fly-tipping incidents, please report it confidentially to our team at 0300 365 1111 or submit a report here.
