A Round-Up of Our Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week 2026 Activities!

Published: 5/7/2026

As Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week comes to a close, we want to look back at a busy week of action and partnerships across our neighbourhoods.

Throughout the week, our Community Safety and Neighbourhood teams were out in our communities working alongside Merseyside Police, local authorities, SWACA, and community groups. Our goal was to tackle ASB, offer support, and make sure our customers feel secure in their homes.

Taking action in Belle Vale and the Wirral

A big part of the week was getting out and speaking to people who live in our communities.  In Belle Vale, we teamed up with Merseyside Police and the LLiverpool City Council’s ASB Team to chat directly with residents, break down barriers to reporting, and offer guidance on community safety. The response was really positive, and we are now looking into setting up a regular drop-in surgery in the area.

Our teams were also out with partners in the Wirral town centre, asking the public about how safe they feel and raising awareness of a new three-year Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) designed to tackle issues like street drinking and nuisance vehicles.

Making a difference in L30

Community pride was a key theme during our action days in Bootle and Litherland. Working alongside local partners like Comm-Unity Youth, we engaged with residents and carried out estate clean-ups to tackle ongoing fly-tipping issues. By combining environmental improvements with early intervention, we were able to address local concerns whilest connecting residents to vital support and youth activities. As the Comm-Unity Youth team said, “We’re there because we care”, which really captured what the week was all about.

Spotlighting Domestic Abuse Support

Community safety covers lots of different areas, so we also hosted a Domestic Abuse Awareness morning at the L30 Centre. Colleagues from our Community Safety Team and our Safeguarding and Domestic Abuse Officer joined SWACA to provide a safe space for guidance, support, and information. This session highlighted our strong local partnerships and our shared message that if you are affected by domestic abuse, support is available, and no one has to face it alone.

Tackling ASB hotspots around Sheil Road, Kensington

Today, we joined forces with Merseyside Police, Onward, and Liverpool City Council to target known ASB hotspots around the Sheil Road area. Our teams spent the day delivering letters and speaking directly with residents to offer advice and reassure the community that action is being taken. Being visible and working closely with our local partners allows us to directly address local concerns and ensure our neighbourhoods remain safe places to live.

Getting creative in Netherton

To help wrap up the week, we launched an ASB Poster Competition with the youth club at Netherton Park Community Centre. The children fully embraced the challenge, creating some brilliant artwork while having important conversations about what ASB is, respect, and how our actions affect the wider community. The finished posters will be displayed at a special exhibition on Monday 13th July for family members to view, where our team will have the very tough job of picking a winner! A huge thank you to the team at the centre for supporting this fantastic initiative.
