Over £3 million in social value generated by housing association’s CSR initiatives this Christmas

One Vision Housing has generated over £3 million in social value over the festive period this year, with 1,495 beneficiaries across Liverpool, Sefton and Wirral.

With a commitment to creating opportunities and changing lives for its residents through thriving, inclusive communities, One Vision Housing manages over 13,000 homes across the region and was named the best organisation in Europe for adding value to its customers by EFQM in 2014.

This December, the award-winning housing association worked with 11 local organisations to support vulnerable residents through the delivery of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

  • Food and hygiene pallets were delivered to combat food poverty, reaching 870 people through St Leonards Church Foodbank, Veterans HQ, Wirral Foodbank, Sefton Opera, Light for Life, The Brunswick Youth & Community Centre and Victoria Centre.
  • 270 young people were supported in the community thanks to Capsticks and One Vision Housing, with pallets of toys donated to Livingstone Street Play & Community Centre and Netherton Park Neighbourhood Centre. Whilst the Kindfulness Café were awarded a grant through the Community Development Fund which allowed them to purchase toys and food for their own project.
  • Afternoon tea was hand delivered to 315 isolated residents across the housing association’s retirement schemes including Brooks Court, Mill Spring Court, St Johns Court, Orrell Lodge, Kenyons Lodge, Fernley Grange and Bishops Court.
  • 40 veterans in Southport were served a hearty Christmas dinner through Veterans in Sefton, thanks to the sponsorship and volunteering

Using the HACT Social Value Calculator, which was formed following extensive research to measure the positive impact of social initiatives, the Stakeholder Engagement Team at One Vision Housing where able to determine that over £3 million of social value had been generated over the festive period.

One Vision Housing is part of The Sovini Group which was formed in December 2011 and includes Pine Court Housing Association.

Ian Mitchell, Managing Director of Housing at The Sovini Group said, “We are incredibly proud of our Stakeholder Engagement Team having generated over £15.5 million in social value during 2020/21, and a further £3 million over the Christmas period this year.

The team have been instrumental in creating opportunities and changing the lives of people within our communities across the Liverpool City Region and beyond through their amazing CSR activities.”
