Recommendation 6

Housing associations should develop a proactive local community presence through community hubs which foster greater multi-agency working

What One Vision Housing has done to date so far

The COVID-19 pandemic brought about a significant shift in working and living habits. Many people found themselves working remotely from home, and social interactions were greatly reduced. As businesses and individuals adapted to these changes, new ways of working and interacting emerged.

  • Digital communications

One notable change was the increased reliance on digital communication. Online meetings, video calls, and email became essential tools for staying connected. However, as we continue to adapt to our customers’ needs, it has become evident that there is an increased demand for face-to-face interactions.

  • Neighbourhood drop-in sessions

In response to this feedback, we began exploring ways to adapt our services to better meet the needs of our customers. We recognised that there were certain situations where customers might prefer to speak to a member of staff in person, whether it was to discuss a complex issue or simply for reassurance.

To address this, we introduced neighbourhood drop-in sessions at various community centres across the Merseyside area. These sessions are run consistently on a monthly basis, in accessible venues, and provide an opportunity for customers to connect with a member of our staff and discuss any tenancy-related queries they may have. From reporting repairs to addressing anti-social behaviour, our staff are on hand to provide support and assistance. The locations of the sessions are as follows:. In Quarter Two we introduced permanent and regular Neighbourhood Cafes across our stock. They are now located in the following venues,

    • Halle’s Hub – 43 Ford Ln, Ford, Litherland, Liverpool L21 0HG.
      • These run the first Wednesday of each month at 11am-2pm.
    • Seacombe Children’s Centre, St Paul’s Rd, Wallasey CH44 7AN
      • These run on the first Tuesday of each month at 12pm-3pm
    • Woodvale Community Centre, Meadow Ln, Southport PR8 3RS
      • These run on the first Wednesday of each month at 12-3.
  • Victim Support Directory

We actively promote our victim support directory, which signposts to local support services across all boroughs we operate in. We understand that reaching out can be difficult, which is why we created this resource to make it easier for those in need to access the help they deserve.
