Tenancy fraud is an illegal offence where people are living in a home without the right to do so.
What types of tenancy fraud are there?
Tenancy fraud can take many forms. The most common are:
- Housing by deception – Obtaining a tenancy using a false statement
- Abandoning your home
- Succeeding your tenancy without permission
- Unlawful subletting – Renting out your home to others
