Now summer is in full swing, it’s time to give your home a Post-Winter Refresh, ensuring no hidden moisture build up gets missed.
During the Winter months Damp, Mould and Condensation can build up easily. That’s why it is essential to take advantage of the summer sun and heat to rid of hidden moisture.
Post Winter Refresh Tips:
- Airing is Key: Dedicate dry and warm days to thoroughly airing out your home. Open all windows and internal doors for a few hours (if weather permitting) to refresh the air in your home.
- Check for Hidden Damp Spots: Pay attention to areas that may be hidden or less accessible such as behind furniture, inside wardrobes, in corners. If possible, move furniture away from walls, ideally 5 – 10 cm, and open wardrobes whilst ventilating the home.
- Wipe Down Condensation: If condensation appears on surfaces or windows, wipe them down immediately. This reduces the chance of moisture being absorbed into materials like couches.
- Dry clothes outside: When possible, make the most of the weather and dry your clothes outside. If you live in a high – rise or have no access to a garden, ensure to dry your clothes in a well-ventilated room.
Implementing these tips during the summer months can improve and prevent Damp, Mould and Condensation build up.
