Transforming alleyways into a community space

Published: 4/8/2025

You might have noticed we’ve been working hard to make our neighbourhoods cleaner and safer by clearing out fly-tipping and unwanted items from alleyways. We’re now taking that commitment even further by partnering with local charities to turn these spaces into inspiring community hubs.

We’re thrilled to share the transformations of alleyways on Smith Street, Kier Hardie Avenue, and Hankey Drive. By collaborating with dedicated charities, Bootle Action Group and Bootle Tool Shed, these once neglected pathways have transformed. Now featuring benches, planters and hanging baskets, inviting customers to connect and grow, rather than areas for disposal.

This transformation would not have been possible without the crucial support of Sefton Council and Sovini Waste Solutions. Their hard work in removing fly-tipping allowed our teams to bring this vision to life.

A huge thank you to all our partners and everyone who supported this project. We truly hope these new spaces become cherished community space.

Your role in keeping our communities clean

As we continue our commitment to clear our alleyways, we urge you to help us with this mission. Please responsibly dispose your unwanted items and maintain the upkeep of the already visited alleyways.

Fly-tipping is not only a health hazard and harmful to the environment but is also detrimental to the quality of your homelife.

If you witness any illegal fly-tipping incidents, please report it confidentially to our team at 0300 365 1111 or submit a report HERE.

Let’s work together to keep our communities clean and safe!
