The importance of supported housing #StartsAtHomeDay
Published: 5/8/2025
Today marks #StartsAtHomeDay, and here at One Vision Housing are joining the call to celebrate the vital role supported housing plays in our communities. For thousands of people and families, supported housing provides a safe home and the crucial support they need to live independently.
For around half a million of the most vulnerable people in our society, a supported home offers the opportunity to have greater control over their lives. It provides the support needed to build healthy relationships, self-esteem, well-being, and independence. Those who benefit from this type of housing include older and disabled people, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, those who have experienced homelessness, and young people leaving foster care. The support services that are part of this housing are invaluable, and their loss would be catastrophic. This is why we are calling on the government to urgently save our supported housing.
At One Vision Housing, we understand that housing needs vary, and we are committed to providing high-quality, affordable homes that suit everyone. As an award-winning housing provider, we manage over 14,400 homes across the Liverpool City Region, Cheshire, Lancashire, and Greater Manchester. We offer a variety of tenures to meet different needs, from social housing and private rent to Rent to Buy and commercial lettings, creating equal opportunities for all. You can learn more about our options for affordable and social rent here.
