Spotlight on Aimee Parry: Championing Safety and Support at One Vision Housing

Published: 2/6/2025

At One Vision Housing, we’re all about making a real difference in the lives of our tenants. That’s why we’re so proud to shine a light on Aimee Parry, our dedicated Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding Officer. Aimee’s journey with us is a brilliant example of how passion and a commitment to helping others can truly transform lives. Let’s find out more about her vital work and how she’s making our communities safer and more supportive for everyone.

I joined Sovini Property Services in 2022, wanting to work for the Sovini Group for a while. With family already here and great feedback on staff engagement, I knew it was a wonderful place. In June 2023, an opportunity came up for me to join the Independent Living Team. My decade-long background in schools, coupled with training in emotional health and childhood trauma, fuelled my passion for helping people struggling with mental health and supporting our most vulnerable families. One Vision Housing truly goes above and beyond to support our tenants’ needs, driven by the genuine passion of its staff.

I believe everyone at OVH shares the same values and a desire to ‘make a difference’. Within the Independent Living (IL) team, I’ve handled complex cases, helping families in difficult situations and guiding them to the support they need. This ignited my passion for Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding. This new role is a first for the company, and understanding our responsibilities as a housing provider has been a challenge. I’ve been involved in lots of high-level safeguarding cases, working closely with our Community Safety Team and conducting joint visits with Neighbourhood Safety Officers when concerns arose about vulnerable adults or children.

I now represent OVH at the Sefton MARAC (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference), which I attend every two weeks to share crucial information. I’m really enjoying my new role and aim to make safeguarding and domestic abuse something we are all aware of, comfortable to talk about, and to understand it’s everyone’s responsibility to raise concerns. I feel 100% supported and enjoy coming to work. We have great relationships across teams and are a workforce that can ‘pull it out of the bag’ when we’re in a difficult situation. The Independent Living Team are also amazing, always offering advice and support. New staff members often comment on how helpful and approachable everyone is.

Aimee Parry’s dedication to her role as Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding Officer is a shining example of OVH’s commitment to customer well-being. Her proactive approach and passion for helping others are making a significant impact. By creating a culture of awareness and shared responsibility, Aimee is helping to ensure that OVH continues to be a safe and supportive environment for all our customers.
