Keeping you informed: Solid Wall Insulation Works
Published: 2/3/2025
The Government have recently advised that routine checks across the UK have revealed issues with some solid wall insulation installations, as completed under Government energy schemes.
The Government has taken swift action, suspending 39 businesses across the UK from installing solid wall insulation due to poor-quality works. The Government have made it clear that any installer that is responsible for substandard work must ‘fix it’ at no cost to homeowners.
How does this affect OVH?
We are not aware of any issues with the works completed on our homes under Government energy schemes.
The Government has requested a sample audit of works across the Liverpool City Region, including OVH, to ensure this remains the case.
What to Expect:
- Inspections: Sample inspections will be completed by one of three independent consultants (Rider Levett Bucknall / Ridge & Partners / Baily Garner) and we expect all inspections to be completed by 31st March 2025.
- Letters: If you have received Government funded works from OVH, you may receive a letter from us, which explains the current situation and provides further information.
- Our commitment: We are working closely with the Government to ensure all insulation works completed on our homes are to the required standards. As always, OVH is committed to ensuring the highest standards of work for our customers.
We understand that the mention of an inspection may be a little unsettling, but we want to reassure you that these inspections are just a precautionary measure.
