Important Universal Credit update for One Vision Housing customers
Published: 4/4/2026
If you receive Universal Credit (UC), there are upcoming changes to how you manage your housing costs.
Please read the information below carefully to ensure your rent payments continue smoothly and your claim remains accurate.
Action required! Confirm your housing costs
On Monday 6th April 2026, customers receiving Universal Credit will need to update their housing costs on the online portal.
- Complete the ‘Confirm your housing costs’ task in your Universal Credit account.
- You must wait until Monday 6th April 2026 to action. If you submit it before this date, your rent details will not update correctly, and you will need to repeat the process.
New to Universal Credit?
You are responsible for paying your rent using the housing element of your Universal Credit.
Your UC payment includes money for your rent, and it is your responsibility to pay us with it. If you are a new claimant, please contact us immediately so we can:
- Ensure you are receiving the correct amount of housing support.
- Agree on a payment date and method that works for you.
- Offer a free financial health check and professional benefit advice.
- Provide a three-month rent statement (if the DWP requests one).
Direct rent payments
If you need extra support, your UC housing costs can be paid directly to us.
This payment will reach your rent account on the same date you receive your monthly UC payment.
Please note – If your Universal Credit payment does not cover your full rent, you are responsible for paying the difference to keep your account out of arrears
