Focus on Grogan Square: Our fight against fly-tipping
Published: 5/12/2025
We are continuing our zero-tolerance stance against fly-tipping, with Grogan Square in Bootle being the latest focus of our enforcement efforts.
The area, which features six gated alleyways, has been a notorious fly-tipping hotspot. The clean-up operation was a joint effort between One Vision Housing and Sovini Waste Solutions and took around three weeks to complete.
Community feedback
The scale of the issue at Grogan Square has been a regular concern for local residents, and we are committed to listening to our customers and working in partnership with Sefton Council to clear these spaces and prevent future incidents.
Keeping communities safe and clean this festive season
Don’t let unwanted items ruin our communities this Christmas. As you clear space for new gifts, please ensure you dispose of your rubbish legally and responsibly. Fly-tipping is a crime that invites vermin and creates unsafe neighbourhoods.
To enforce our zero-tolerance approach, we are increasing surveillance and will pursue legal action against offenders. However, your support and vigilance are crucial to our success. Here’s how you can help protect your community:
- Dispose correctly – Break down gift boxes and use your bins.
- Donate – If old items such as toys or furniture are in good, reusable condition, please consider donating them to those in need this Christmas.
- Book it – For large items that won’t fit in your bin, arrange a bulky waste collection with Sefton Council or take them to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre.
- Report it – If you spot fly-tipping, report it immediately!
The successful clearance of Grogan Square is the latest example of thriving community partnerships across Sefton. Residents are actively working with us, utilising skips donated by Sovini Waste Solutions, to make their neighbourhoods cleaner and safer.
To actively deter future incidents of fly-tipping, we partnered with local schools including English Martyrs Primary School. Students designed educational, anti-fly-tipping posters, which we then installed to create a visible, community-led prevention effort.
See it? Report it.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our neighbourhoods clean and safe.
By working together—correctly disposing of waste and reporting suspicious activity—we can successfully hold fly-tippers accountable and ensure a better environment for all.
Please report fly-tipping immediately and confidentially HERE.
