Published: 2/12/2025

Discover how Sovini Property Services’ ensures your home and communal areas remain in great shape this winter.

Find out what to expect from our essential communal cleaning and winter grounds maintenance schedules and see how we keep your community safe and tidy during the colder months.

Winter grounds maintenance (mid-October to mid-March)

During the colder months, our focus shifts to essential tasks that keep areas tidy and prepare for spring growth.

You can expect five scheduled visits (weather permitting) during the winter season, which includes:

  • Removal of debris from all areas (grass, flowerbeds, and paved areas).
  • Grassed areas to be edged.
  • Trimming of shrubs and hedges.
  • Harsh pruning and thinning out of shrubs and hedges (as needed).
  • Treatment and removal of moss.

Communal area cleaning (year-round service)

Our dedicated cleaning team continues their essential work throughout the year, ensuring communal indoor spaces remain clean and safe. This service covers:

  • Floors – Hoovering carpets and mats (if an electric supply is available), sweeping, and mopping all hard floors.
  • Surfaces and fittings – Wiping handrails, banisters, skirting, architraves, window ledges, and fixtures.
  • Detailing – Polishing switches and sockets, dusting spindles, and wiping hand and kick plates.
  • Interior glass – Cleaning all interior glass surfaces, including vision panels (excluding residents’ private windows).
  • External cleaning – Cleaning communal external windows monthly.
  • Inspections – Spot-cleaning walls and assessing communal areas to report any defects.

Our specialist cleaning products are designed to deliver excellent results, even in colder temperatures. To ensure we remain both effective and efficient in maintaining your communal areas and grounds, we use cold water in our processes.
