Cleaning up and cracking down in Netherton

Published: 5/6/2025

What an incredible couple of days in Netherton, specifically around Albert Schweitzer, Westminster Avenue, and the surrounding roads – we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who joined us and got stuck in!

We’d like to express a massive thank you to all our brilliant volunteers! Despite the classic British rain, you rolled up your sleeves, got stuck into litter picking, and helped us fill those skips to the brim. Your hard work truly makes a difference.

These days of action form part of One Vision Housing’s Alleyway Strategic Action Plan, particularly when it comes to keeping our communities safe and clean. They’re a fantastic way to boost community spirit and show the positive impact looking after our estates can have. We also want to make our customers and wider communities aware that we’re actively combating the illegal crime of fly-tipping, and we’re working hard to prosecute those caught responsible.

Our customers were genuinely happy to see us out and about in their community, and they made brilliant use of the skips we provided. A huge shout-out to everyone who came along to help, and a special mention goes to Neighbourhood Services Officer Kev for doing a fantastic job distributing all those bin bags.

Finally, a big thank you to Sovini Waste Solutions for providing the skips that were essential to making this clean-up a success.

These days show just how much we can achieve when we work together. Here’s to creating a cleaner and better future for our neighbourhoods.
