A recent, complex case serves as a powerful reminder of our commitment; it demonstrates how rapid intervention and close collaboration with partners can provide a lifeline for those escaping domestic abuse.

A positive outcome through collaboration

A customer was faced with a distressing situation when their former partner, who posed a significant risk to their safety, was due for an unexpected early release from prison.

Given the immediate nature of the risk, we utilised our multi-agency response, bringing together expertise from:

• Merseyside Police
• Independent Domestic Violence Advisers (IDVAs)
• The National Probation Service
• Victim Liaison Teams

Ensuring the customer’s safety was our primary concern. Following an immediate risk assessment, it was determined that the customer needed to be relocated to a secure, environment prior to the perpetrator’s release.

Housing Officers identified and secured a property within a matter of days. To ensure the customer’s safety and sense of security in their new home, we implemented ‘target hardening’ measures, including enhanced security features for added peace of mind.

The customer is now settled and empowered to start a new chapter. This case illustrates our commitment to working collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for our customers.
