A clear vision for Bootle as One Vision Housing tackles fly-tipping

Published: 1/11/2025

One Vision Housing (OVH), part of The Sovini Group, is celebrating success in its fight against fly-tipping, following another successful clean-up event in Bootle, which witnessed customers reclaim their communal spaces.

The focus of the latest Day of Action was at Hackett Avenue and Aughton Road, Bootle, where colleagues from OVH and repairs & maintenance provider, Sovini Property Services engaged directly with customers to review the impact of recent alleyway clean-ups and communicate future community improvements.

Crucially, Group members, Sovini Waste Solutions continued to provide vital clearance support for clean-up events, ensuring the swift removal of waste.

The area has been brought to life with the installation of posters designed by local school children as part of a recent anti-fly-tipping competition. These impactful posters created by pupils from English Martyrs Primary School, in partnership with Sefton Council and the Strand Partnership, are to educate and deter future fly-tipping.

Ian Mitchell, Managing Director (Housing) at One Vision Housing, said:

“The success we’ve seen on Aughton Road and Hackett Avenue proves that strong partnerships and community ownership are the most effective tools against fly-tipping. We are not just cleaning communal spaces; we’re creating community pride. The installation of the children’s artwork adds a powerful message from the next generation that fly-tipping unacceptable.”

This sense of community was perfectly captured by one customer, who said:

“I am so happy with One Vision Housing, this is exactly what the community needs. I will be looking after the alleyway from now on and get my paint out to paint the bench.”

The afternoon also proved successful for OVH’s Customer Voice initiatives, with a number of customers expressing an interest in getting involved to provide feedback and help shape local service improvements.
