Fly-tipping
As part of our commitment to creating safe and secure neighbourhoods we are working with the local community to tackle fly-tipping issues in your area.
Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste and is considered a crime.
In addition to being unsightly, fly-tipping also causes an increase in rodent activity which can lead to significant health issues.
You are required to dispose of your rubbish in accordance with your Local Authority’s procedures.
This means you should not:
- Have excessive amounts of rubbish within the boundary of your property
- Put your rubbish in alleyways/pavements (bagged or loose)
- Put bags/bins out on any day other than the above for collection
- Put any larger items such as mattresses, sofas, kitchen appliances etc. within the alleyway or surrounding area
If you’re found disposing of your rubbish improperly your tenancy could be at risk and you may be recharged for removal costs.
Report fly-tipping: If you are aware of any resident in your area not disposing of their rubbish correctly (as above), you may report this confidentially by contacting us on 0300 365 1111
Get involved: In other areas, the community have set up successful Love your Entry Campaigns. If you are interested in this or volunteering to help keep your community clean, please contact us on 0300 365 1111.
Arrange a bulk item collection with your Local Authority:
Sefton Council
Items can be collected for a fee (3 items is £14). If you are in financial hardship, please contact us to discuss support as we may be able to assist. |
