One Vision Housing (OVH), part of The Sovini Group, has expanded its community service offer to provide additional support during the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.
Over £16,000 of food and supplies has been donated by OVH to local organisations in order to help tackle food poverty during these unprecedented times. Amongst those who received donations were South Sefton Food Bank, Netherton Park Community Centre, Sureline Food Bank Southport, Salvation Army, New Start Homeless Initiative, Liverpool/Sefton Veterans, NHS and Brunswick Youth and Community Centre.
In addition to food donations, OVH has reached out to over 900 of their Independent Living and several hundred more of their most vulnerable customers to check if they are shielding and need to register for assistance in securing food or medications. Those suffering from social isolation have also been sign-posted to organisations who can provide them with the additional support they need during this time.
OVH’s generosity went one step further with the donation of a bicycle to Litherland and Orrell Hey Ministry Team Vicar, Reverend Ravi Sangra. The bicycle has proved invaluable in helping Reverend Ravi carry out his daily work in the community where he counsels parishioners, delivers prescriptions and provides funeral services.
Reverend Ravi Sangra, Team Vicar of Litherland and Orrell Hey Ministry, said:
“I would like to thank One Vision Housing for their generous donation. It’s important for me to be visible in the community and with the donation of this bicycle I am now able to provide the essential services my parishioners need.”
Ian Mitchell, Managing Director of One Vision Housing, said:
“One Vision Housing is committed to providing safe and secure neighbourhoods, and it is more important than ever that we work together with our customers and partner organisations to increase our community services during this challenging time. Our personal approach has meant many of our customers and their families have been able to access schemes and services they may have previously been unaware of. We will continue to ensure our communities remain sufficiently supported during this time.”
