Days of Action: Cleaning up neighbourhoods and bringing the community together
Published: 4/2/2025
We’re working hard to enhance quality of life for our customers by revitalising neighbourhoods and fostering a sense of community spirit.
Our Neighbourhood Services Team, alongside Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, has completed 17 Days of Action since April 2024. These events aim to tackle fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour, while also focusing on fire safety for our customers.
One Sandbrook Grove customer expressed gratitude for the positive impact these events have had on the community:
“It was good to see some residents getting involved and for the younger children to see the older children helping out on the clean-up day. It was also good to see some residents who wouldn’t normally come together, interact and share stories. This is still the case eight weeks on. It was good that some issues were brought to the attention of One Vision Housing and picked up on the day which gives the residents confidence that they are being listened to. There is a neighbourhood Café in the Woodvale Community Centre which will also make a positive impact allowing those who want to attend to discuss any issues they have. Although we appreciate there still needs to be some education given around the usage of the communal bins, we feel that One Vision Housing are willing to listen. The skips were really appreciated – it would be good to have these again.”
A Thorburn Lodge customer also spoke about the care he received during the Days of Action:
“Representatives from One Vision Housing chatted to me in my flat asked if I needed support and whether I had any issues to report, I felt they genuinely cared, which was nice. Not only did they engage with customers, but they removed any fly-tipping and cleaned the windows which made the block look brighter.”

We have a series of upcoming community action days planned. Our team will be on hand picking litter from streets and alleyways, conducting actions around anti-social behaviour, and providing skips courtesy of Sovini Waste Solutions for customers to dispose of their unwanted household goods free of charge.
