Board Members

Meet our One Vision Housing Board Members…

Here at One Vision Housing, we have a strong board of members who help steer us in achieving our community goals and our vision in reinvesting and strengthening communities.

Our board includes both non-executive directors and executive directors:

 

  • Peter Crosby

    Member status: Non-executive director

    Professional status: Prior to retirement, Peter worked for 29 years in the Merseyside and North West social housing sector as a hands-on senior finance manager focusing on financial reporting, analysis, planning and administration. He concluded his career as the Group Head of Financial Services at the Regenda Group, a major North West based RP.

    In addition to his wide-ranging finance experience, Peter has worked extensively across many key operational headings, including Asset Management and Development, I.T., and Rent and Service Charges. Peter has been appointed as the Member Responsible for Complaints, and will lead on the responsibility for OVH’s complaint handling. As part of the role, Peter will assesses themes and trends, as well as policies and procedures where applicable, to help ensure a positive complaint handling culture.

    Passionate about: Peter has been a Sefton resident for 60 years; he is passionate about the local built environment and believes access to quality, affordable and well managed housing is a basic human right. He is excited to have this opportunity to help One Vision Housing deliver that goal.

  • Andrew Armstrong

    Member status: Non-executive director

    Professional status: Andrew is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and is also an active ARB member. Andrew is an experienced Architect, Director and Shareholder whose main focus of his career has been assisting with developments including new residential masterplans and relationships with communities that will help improve housing standards and urban environments. Andy is also a non-executive Board Member for Sovini Limited.

    Passionate about: He has a real passion for regeneration and how a successful project can improve the wellbeing of local residents in addition to creating a legacy for the next generation.

  • Tracey Gore

    Member status: Non-executive director

    Professional status: Tracey is the Director of Steve Biko Housing Association

    Passionate about: Tracey is passionate about working with the many diverse communities of Liverpool, enabling their voices to be heard not only in the housing sector, but the wider issues that impact upon their lives.

  • Lelir Yeung (Chair)

    Member status: Non-executive director

    Professional status: Prior to retirement, Head of Community Relations and Cohesion at Leeds City Council.

    Passionate about: With over 20 years’ experience of working at a senior management level in the public sector, her roles and responsibilities have been wide ranging. This has provided her with extensive knowledge, skills and experience in a range of areas which include policy development, project management, strategic service development, resource and financial management.

    Lelir has a demonstrable track record of delivering change programmes and initiatives to support disadvantaged and marginalised communities. Throughout her career, multi-agency working has been a key and integral part of her work and this has enabled her to build strong relationships both internal and external stakeholders to ensure strategic planning and service delivery takes into account a range of stakeholders.

    Lelir is more than suitably qualified with a BA in Housing Studies and is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

  • Mike Parkin

    Member status: Non-executive director

    Chair of Risk and Audit Committee

    Professional status: Mike Parkin is currently Chief Executive for a Northwest housing group, having previously been Chief Finance Officer for the same company. His position is responsible for overseeing all functions of the group, specifically housing, asset management, development, finance, HR, IT, performance, governance, risk and audit and a commercial subsidiary.

    Mike has over 20 year’s Board experience having served on numerous Housing Boards, holding the Chair’s position as well as that of Chair of a RP Audit Committee.

    Mike previously worked for North Wales Police where he worked as Director of Finance and Resource. He has worked in various roles in both the public and private sector including Wirral Metropolitan College and North Wales newspapers.

  • Tracey Liggett

    Member status: Executive director

    Member status: Group Chief Finance Officer at The Sovini Group (One Vision Housing)

    Professional status: Tracey is responsible for growing and developing the commercial side of The Sovini Group, ensuring that the commercial businesses deliver excellent service to both internal and external customers. Upon qualifying as an Accountant in 1995, Tracey worked in the manufacturing sector in senior financial roles for a number of blue chip organisations. She joined Knowsley Housing Trust (KHT) in 2002 as Assistant Finance Director, before joining One Vision Housing at its inception in 2006 as Executive Finance Director. Tracey is the Chief Finance Officer for the Group as a whole, including One Vision Housing. Alongside her wealth of experience, Tracey is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and holds an MBA in Leadership. Tracey is also an Executive Board Member of Sovini Limited.

     

    Passionate about: Tracey is passionate about combining her housing experience with commercial acumen to deliver an ambitious five-year commercial growth plan for The Sovini Group.

  • Dr Roy Williams

    Member status: Executive director, Group Chief Executive

    Professional status: Dr Roy Williams is a qualified fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing and has a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA). Roy is Group Chief Executive and holds a number of non-executive director positions with external organisations. He also sits on the Boards of Pine Court Housing Association and The Sovini Group.

    Passionate about: Pursuing our vision and mission to be the best in our approach to everything we do.

The One Vision Housing Board is assisted by a Group Risk and Audit Committee, which provides robust scrutiny, audit and risk monitoring of the Board’s activities.  The Committee is led by an independent Chair:

The demographics of the current OVH board are as follows;

  • Average age of the board is 59 years old

In comparison the demographics of OVH customers is as follows;

  • 59.85% of customers are women
  • 12.4% of customers are BAME
  • 28% of customers have some form of a disability
  • Average age of OVH customers is 52 years old

In comparison the demographics of Sefton/Liverpool’s population is as follows;

  • 52% (Sefton) and 50% (Liverpool) of residents are women
  • 2.6% (Sefton) and 11% (Liverpool) of residents are BAME
  • Average age of residents is 43 years old (Sefton) and 35 years old (Liverpool)

This information is used to inform future Board Member recruitment.


Role of the Board

The role of our Board is:

“To determine strategic direction and scrutinise and evaluate the organisation’s affairs and to ensure the organisation is managed efficiently through effective leadership”

The Board’s responsibilities include:

  • Defining and ensuring compliance with the values, vision, mission and strategic objectives of the association, ensuring its long term success
  • Establishing a framework for approving strategies, policies and plans to achieve those objectives
  • Satisfying itself as to the integrity of financial information and approve each year’s accounts prior to publication, and approve each year’s budget and business plan
  • Establishing and overseeing a framework for the identification, management and reporting of risk, in order to safeguard the assets of the association
  • Monitoring the association’s performance in relation to these strategies, plans, budgets, controls and decisions and also in the light of customer feedback and the performance of comparable organisations.
